Terms of Service

Last updated: July 12, 2026

1. Who we are

These Terms govern your use of Prairie Paths and the Compass Rose guided trail (the "Service"), provided by Sweet Grass Co. ("Sweet Grass Co.", "we", "us"), operated by Leanne van den Brink. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account, completing a purchase, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Description of the Service

Compass Rose is a self-guided reflective experience delivered through the Prairie Paths web application. It is an educational and reflective product. It is not therapy, counselling, medical, or mental-health advice, and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. You will not:

  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
  • infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
  • send spam, malware, or attempt to probe, scan, or breach security;
  • scrape, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service;
  • share your account credentials or allow others to use your access.

5. Intellectual property

All content, software, text, design, and branding in the Service are owned by Sweet Grass Co. or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial reflective use. Anything you write or record inside the Service remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the Service to you.

6. Purchases, billing & taxes

Compass Rose is offered as a one-time purchase granting lifetime access for the purchasing account. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Applicable taxes are calculated and collected at checkout. Invoices and receipts are issued automatically. Your card statement may show a descriptor that includes Stripe's name alongside ours.

7. Refunds

Compass Rose includes a 10-day money-back guarantee. Refund requests must be received within 10 days of the original purchase date by emailing sweetgrassseminars@gmail.com from the email address used for your purchase.

If a refund is approved, your access to Compass Rose will be revoked immediately. Reflective content, journals, assessments, reports, progress, and other Compass Rose activity associated with that purchase will be permanently deleted from our systems. We retain only the limited records required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, authentication integrity, and compliance with applicable law.

See our Refund Policy for complete details.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. You may stop using the Service at any time.

9. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your particular needs. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sweet Grass Co.'s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, and the applicable laws of Canada. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights available under applicable law.
