Leanne Van Den Brink is a proud Métis founder born and raised in Alberta whose passion has always been helping people grow into confident, capable leaders.
For more than thirteen years she worked in high-pressure healthcare environments where leadership, teamwork, resilience, and difficult decisions were part of everyday life. Throughout that journey she found herself asking one question:
How do we become better leaders — not simply by reacting to challenges, but by understanding ourselves first?
That question became Sweet Grass Co.
Rooted in her Métis heritage and inspired by the Alberta landscape, Leanne believes the land has always been one of our greatest teachers. It reminds us to slow down, pay attention, build relationships, and continue growing throughout life.
She first imagined leadership development on a working Alberta farm where challenge, reflection, animals, and the land could become part of the learning experience. But she also knew not everyone could travel to the farm.
So she created Prairie Paths.
Compass Rose is the first digital leadership journey in that larger vision — a private, self-guided experience designed to help people pause, reflect, and grow wherever they are.
Today Prairie Paths allows anyone to begin that journey from home while the in-person Sweet Grass Co. experiences continue to grow toward their future Alberta farm location.
Leanne didn't create Sweet Grass Co. because she had all the answers. She created it because she spent a lifetime leading without a map — and wanted to build the one she wished she'd had.
